Seafood News:

The demand from markets has many positive signals. The US and EU markets have eased the distance, reopened and the vaccine is widely injected. The demand for shrimp imports from these markets is very high from now until November to serve Christmas, especially the demand for large-sized shrimp imports. According to export enterprises, orders are signed a lot, just worry about production is not enough to meet.

Mr. Le Van Quang – Chairman of Minh Phu Seafood Group said that the market demand for large shrimps is very good with high export prices. In order to increase capacity in the current shortage of workers, the factory must increase production of large sizes. It is recommended that farmers stock low density of 100-120 fish/m2 compared to the previous high density of 250-300 fish/m2. Currently, size 10-45 pcs/kg is under contract. The type of 40 fish/kg is being ordered a lot by the US market. Shrimp farmers should be confident that when the social distance is controlled and back to the “new normal”, shrimp exporters and factories will push up the purchase price.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Phung Duc Tien noted that shrimp production and processing is a chain associated with focal points including: seed, feed, farming techniques, supply of materials, harvest planning and consumption. Seafood in the southern provinces is about 5 million tons, must be harvested quickly and solve difficulties in the processing stage.
